How great is James Bond. And I don't mean any paticular actor but the Character of Bond. Sure I think everyone has seen at least one Bond film, but have you ever sat down and watched all 21? And then read the books? Thats the mission I am on at the moment. I just finished Watching Octopussy and reading Casino Royale and I have to say when you boil Bond down and I mean Flemmings Bond he is just the total man's man. If we were to put him up against other male icons such as Han Solo, Superman, or Tv's Noel Edmonds I think you'll find Bond is simply the MAN. Bond works alone all the others round him just hold him back or don't see the whole picture while Han needs a walking carpet and the king of the aryians to be by his side to get shit done and without them what happens yes that's right carbon freeze. Superman is barely superman he is Clark kent meaning he cant be himself he's constantly undercover and hiding, while Bond the suave spy even undercover is the same bastard he always is, infact 9 times out of 10 Bond doesn't even need an alias he just walks up says Bond. James Bond and shoots someone in the chest and then shags their missus. And as for Noel Bond has never been overshadowed by a man in a pink suit. (not even when Moore was in the role)
